4th Phase of Visioning 2026 - Polling

4th Phase of Visioning 2026 - Polling

News Release, April 25, 2007, Norfolk, Nebraska

Visioning 2026 Polling for the Future

What is in store for our future as Madison County and Norfolk citizens begin a citizen polling process April 30, 2007 through May 14, 2007.

The goal of the poll is to collect adequate data to assess the current feeling and understanding of the future for the community. Eighteen questions are being asked along with demographic information. Questions range from your perception on current education opportunities, to what impact a job of the future may have for your family in regards to economic development and recreation opportunities. Two sets of data, one from a random statistical valid sample and another from a targeted audience will be used to create a report, and furnish it to area leaders for projects of interest, future goal setting, education, grant applications and community development activities.

The polling is being administered through a variety of parallel opportunities for public participation. A random sample of 2000 citizens will receive a copy of the poll through the US Mail with an enclosed envelope for return by mail, or it can be dropped off at the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce office at 405 Madison Ave.

Visioning 2026 project team members plan to provide the polling questions in parallel to local high schools, service organizations, and other interested persons. The poll will be made available to these groups after the mailing has been sent to the randomly selected participants. Completed polls can be turned into the Chamber office, faxed to (402) 371-0182, or emailed to nacc@norfolk.ne.us.

Visioning 2026 is nearing completion on the fourth of five phases. The polling process follows the group dialogue sessions last fall, a futures symposium in October 2006, and a series of focus group sessions in November. The first iteration of the overall process will conclude with a report phase in late summer. To learn more about the Visioning 2026 project visit the web site at www.Visioning2026.com.

Visioning 2026 is a community-wide project envisioned by the partnership of the Norfolk Daily News, along with the City of Norfolk, Madison County, Northeast Community College, the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce, the Norfolk Public Schools and the Leadership Norfolk Program.
